This was filmed at the Bujinkan Kaigozan Dojo during the late fall of 2016 and early 2017. The theme was Gyokko-ryu Kosshijutsu.

There is no verbal instructions on this film. Each technique is demonstrated several times from all angles. For more information about this ryu-ha click here! Techniques is demonstrated from several angles including slowmotion speed. There is no verbal instructions, we highly suggest you get the Unarmed Fighting Techniques of the Samurai book (what I call the Densho Book by Hatsumi Soke). This book have all Taijutsu techniques from all the Bujinkan ryu-ha described, it is a must have for all studying the Bujinkan arts.

Denna video visar många bra och effektiva tekniker där man hamnat på marken. I många situationer hamnar man på marken och det är inte alltid man kan rulla och ställa sig upp igen. Är man familjär med dessa tekniker har man mycket större chans att klara av en situation där man hamnar på marken och måste agera snabbt och instinktivt.

Den 7:e Augusti 2004 gästade Marcus Widengren Kaigôzan Dôjô i Stockholm, och höll ett endags läger i Brasiliansk Ju Jutsu. Han gick igenom grundpositioner, hur man tar sig loss från fasthållningar, hur man låser fast någon på marken, armlås, strypningar m.m. Sista timmen svarade han på deltagarnas frågor om BJJ historia, han förklarade och visade också försvar mot slag/spark, fula knep, benlås.

Vi bjöd in Marcus för att lära oss mer om BJJ som blivit alltmer populär pga deras effektiva markkamp tekniker. Eftersom Marcus också mycket seriöst tränat Bujinkan i 10 år inkluderat ett flertal Japanresor och träning med Hatsumi Sensei på 90 -talet, så var lägret också lite anpassat för oss i Bujinkan. Det var ett väldigt lyckat och lärorikt läger.

Ten Chi Jin Ryaku no Maki is the absolute foundation of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, unarmed fighting and self defence techniques.

Recorded in Stockholm, Sweden September 2002 – February 2003

Kaigozan dojo and many other use these techniques as a base for ranking beginners up to 1’st degree black belt.

Ten ryaku no maki: 9 kyu – 7 kyu (yellow belt)
Chi ryaku no maki: 6 kyu – 4 kyu (green belt)
Jin ryaku no maki: 3 kyu – 1 kyu (brown belt)

All these techniques is demonstrated on this video 1-3 times. It is not a self study course, it should rather be seen as a reference material and a compliment to your studies with a good teacher.

There is no verbal instructions or speaking on this video. So it doesn’t require that you know English or any other language.

This is one of the first videos we made. It was filmed between 2002 and 2003. The movie quality is not very good. But it has been our best seller since we opened our web shop. Many people like to know the basics :-).

Note: Not all teachers use this curricullum exactly for their ranking. But the techniques are the most fundamental and basic techniques in the Bujinkan Dojo system. So it is worth studying anyway!

About the instructor

Mats Hjelm started training in Bujinkan for the first time around 1983, but it wasn’t until 1986 he had the opportunity to start training more seriously under a Shidôshi. He attends around 20 seminars, go to Japan 2-3 times every year. Since he started training he never had a training break. He takes his budo training very seriously! Ten Ryaku no maki is the first level of taijutsu basics. Including,

This movie was filmed May 30’th 2009 at Kaigozan Dojo. This training was a walk through of the second Taijutsu level by Mats Hjelm, Bujinkan Shihan Kugyo Happobiken. This is the basics recommended especially for beginners and students between 6 Kyu and 4 Kyu in the Bujinkan Dojo system.
