Often when we are training in the Bujinkan we let the training partner roll away. This is good for letting the training partner practice escaping by rolling.
But if you always do that, you never learn how to control Uke.
Hatsumi Soke’s new favourite word in his late 80’s was “CONTROL”. This included taking control of the attacker before he started his attack, which includes place, distance, timing, misdirection, expression, psychology and various ways of trickery.
This video do not cover this advanced and difficult to explain kind of control. But after you have taken the opponent down to the ground, you still need to control him. This is where the Kansetsu Waza (locking techniques) plays an important roll.
This video covers many locking and control techniques after you have put your attacker down.
The video is 35 minutes and covers all the basic locking techniques from the manual.
The manual is in Swedish, the instructions on the VCD are also in Swedish!
