[New DVD] Duncan Stewart Shihan – Three new videos

We have three new DVD’s with Duncan Stewart Shihan from a seminar in Stockholm in April 2010. Duncan Stewart has been training in Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu since 1988 and is ranked Judan Kugyo. He has lived in Japan since 2004 and trains consistently with Hatsumi Soke, Nagato Shihan, Noguchi Shihan, Someya Shihan and Someya Shihan. He is often uke and asked to demonstrate at classes. Duncan was Nagato Shihans sole uke at the Bujinkan Honbu for two years when studying direct from the Gyokko Ryu Densho and the Kukishinden Ryu. If you want to sponsor a seminar or course, please don’t hesitate to contact him. For more information see his web site tazziedevil.wordpress.com.

Bushinden Kai 武神伝会 is ”A Gathering to honour the teachings of the Warrior Gods.” Respecting Souke, The Shihan, and our Martial Ancestors for their transmission of the Nine Traditions of the Bujinkan.

Budo is not about instruction. It is about learning to teach yourself. This is the first thing I want people who attend the Bushinden Kai to understand. We are all on our own Shugyo. We must take responsibility for ourselves, while developing the heart and compassion of the Bujinkan Bugeisha.

[New DVD] Shinken Kata vol 8 with DEAN ROSTOHAR

New Shinken Kata DVD with DEAN ROSTOHAR
Theme: YARI / NAGINATA / MUTODORI.

DVD in NTSC format available from BUDOSHOP.SE
for 269 SEK (Approximately 26 EUR / 38 USD

The theme of the seminar was traditional Japanese long Ninja weapons, Yari (spear) and Naginata (halberd). Kunren Shugyo in Japanese terminology represents the studying of training. Therefore the seminar participants have studied for two days, the ways, the principles, techniques and philosophy of combat with those traditional weapons we use in Bujinkan Ninjutsu.

The ways and techniques of fighting with long weapons are very important for understanding Taijutsu (unarmed combat), because this way we get to know our body and the possibilities of its use through combat techniques.

The techniques with Naginata were done on the first day of the seminar, while techniques with the Yari were done the second day. Also defence against several opponents, combinations with Naginata and sword, and unarmed defence against the Yari was taught.

This seminar was organized in Zagreb, Croatia, on 23th and 24th of September 2006.

This is a very good video if you are interested in realistic self-defence and fighting from the Bujinkan system. We also recommend this video to anyone working or interested in security work as a guard or police. Although some of the techniques is not allowed to use in police force/work you can still see how it could be used against you if the opponent is good.

This video was filmed during his seminar in Stockholm, Sweden sponsored by Bujinkan Kaigozan Dojo. September 26-27′th 2009.

With Dean Shihans experience from real fighting in war, and also from his time in the police force in Croatia he certainly know what he is doing. For his full resume, check out his web site… Dean bio or SPECWOG bio
